As you pass the open secret speakeasy door to the game room, you're greeted by the joyful noise of kids immersed in Mario Kart, air hockey, and drawing funny faces on the chalkboard house art wall. Taking your coffee, you step out to the upstairs patio, settling into a swinging chair, surrounded by the serene sounds of nature. The day gains momentum as you head downstairs to cook a hearty breakfast on the Blackstone griddle. The aroma of bacon and hashbrowns fills the air, blending harmoniously with the backdrop of Texas country music and the laughter of children playing on the train playset. After breakfast, it's time to explore. You venture 15 minutes to the Riverwalk for some sightseeing and shopping, stopping by the Alamo to steep in history. The adventure continues at the San Antonio Aquarium, where the kids delight walking through a koi pond, touching friendly stingrays, and holding fluffy lemurs. Lunch is a treat at Henry’s Puffy Tacos, just 3 minutes away from Puerta Roja. The fresh lemonade and spicy beef fajita puffy tacos are a must-try, and Imelda's warm welcome makes the meal even more memorable. Back home, the kids unwind with a movie in the theater room, enjoying freshly popped popcorn and taking selfies with the red carpet cutouts, while the adults relax in the living room with tabletop games and a drink. The day's magic extends into the afternoon as the ice cream truck's jingle signals a sweet break. The children joyously chase down the truck for their frozen treats. On the way back to the house, you get a friendly wave from our kind neighbor, Gabriel. Evening brings a visit to the Pearl, where the kids play in the splash pad and adults savor drinks and dinner against a backdrop of live music. House Rules

Early Check-In/Late Check-Out: Requests for early check-in or late check-out are subject to availability. If you have not been approved for a late check-out, a late check-out fee of $50 per hour will be assessed for each hour past the indicated check-out time. ADU: The ADU (separate garage unit in the back of the property) is strictly off-limits. The garage of the main building is also off-limits to guests, as well as the closet marked “Private” near the living room. For your own safety, please respect these off-limits areas of the property. Thanks! Fireplaces: No fires are permitted indoors. Do not use the fireplaces to light fires. There is an electronic heater in the living room fireplace which you can use for additional heating and ambiance, but please make sure to turn off when not in use. Animals: No animals except qualified service animals under the ADA are permitted. If you intend to bring a service animal onto the property, you must let us know in advance of your stay. Smoking/Vaping: No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the property. A $200 per day fee will be assessed for each day of the reservation if it is found that guests have been smoking or vaping on the premises. Outdoor Security: For the safety and security of the property, there are two security cameras on the outside of the property (one in the front and one in the back). If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us. Emergencies: In the event of emergencies, please contact the appropriate authorities. Policy on Parties: No parties are allowed at Puerta Roja. Feel free to enjoy the property and the amenities, but be respectful of the property and neighbors. For that purpose, please respect quiet hours between 11PM and 7AM. Train: Do not climb on top of the train playset. The train set has been stabilized, but is not designed to withstand super rough play or climbing on the outside. If it becomes unstable, do not climb on it and please let us know so we can fix it. Fire Pit: Please do not move the fire pit. Supervise any use of the fire pit and ensure fire stays within the pit. Moving Furniture: Moving of furniture is not allowed. A $200 fee will be assessed if the cleaners have to move furniture to reset the property for the next guest.
